The Pinery Overview
The Pinery is an unincorporated community governed by Douglas County, with Parker mailing addresses (ZIP code 80134). It lies about four miles south of downtown Parker, with Colorado Highway 83 (South Parker Road) running through its center, and the census-designated area covers roughly 6,670 acres.
The name comes from the “pineries” of the Cherry Creek valley that supplied lumber for early Denver. Development began in 1971, and the Pinery HOA’s history notes that many of today’s largest ponderosas are about 170 to 180 years old. Homes range from established custom homes to newer ones on large wooded lots in The Timbers at The Pinery, and many enjoy Front Range views.

Lifestyle
The Pinery feels semi-rural while staying close to Parker’s shops, restaurants and Mainstreet. Rolling, pine-covered hills, wildlife and big lots give it a quieter pace than newer master-planned neighborhoods.
The country club is a social hub for members, with golf, tennis, pools and dining, and its Summit program pairs membership with The Club at Pradera. Many residents never join and simply enjoy the trees, trails and views.
The community was built in phases. After the original developer, Terracor, went bankrupt in 1982, other developers and builders completed later areas, including The Timbers. That history is why lot sizes, home ages and covenants can vary from one part of The Pinery to the next, and why it pays to review the documents for each specific property.
Buyers
What to weigh before you make an offer in The Pinery.
Services come from Douglas County and special districts rather than the Town of Parker. Confirm the providers and taxes for any home.
Mature pines are the appeal. Ask about wildfire mitigation, drainage and insurance early, especially on heavily wooded lots.
Weigh The Pinery Country Club separately from the home itself.
