Buying in Lakewood
Why buyers look at Lakewood
Lakewood runs along Denver’s western edge all the way to the foothills. Its higher-end market is concentrated on the west side, where homes look toward Green Mountain, the hogbacks, and the Front Range. Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Bear Creek Lake Park are close by, and trailheads are part of everyday life.
Luxury here takes a few distinct forms: newer, Tuscan-inspired homes in the master-planned community of Solterra; view homes on the hillside streets around Green Mountain; established, larger-lot properties in Applewood; and lock-and-leave living near Belmar. Because Lakewood sits between the city and the mountains, buyers often compare it with Golden, Morrison, and central Denver.
Getting around is straightforward: 6th Avenue (US-6) runs east into downtown Denver, and C-470 and I-70 lead west toward the mountains. The city is served by Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco).
