About the Cherry Creek neighborhood
Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood sits near the geographic center of the city. It’s bounded by the creek itself on the south, East Sixth Avenue on the north, University Boulevard on the west and Colorado Boulevard on the east. Speer Boulevard becomes East First Avenue here, and the East Seventh Avenue Parkway runs along the north side, so downtown and I-25 are a short drive away.
Two commercial centers anchor the neighborhood along First Avenue: the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, an upscale enclosed mall, and Cherry Creek North, a 16-block district of locally owned shops, galleries, restaurants, salons and national brands running from First to Third Avenue between University Boulevard and Steele Street. Much of the rest of the neighborhood is residential, with tree-lined streets that mix newer homes with some of Denver’s older ones.
